Living With FH: Salima is living with HoFH, a severe type of familial hypercholesterolemia (FH), that leads to dangerously high levels of LDL cholesterol even in childhood. HoFH often results in heart blockages, heart attacks and strokes early in life
if it’s not aggressively treated.
Salima’s sister, brother and father all died early from heart attacks. She urges anyone with high LDL cholesterol to look for patterns of heart problems in their family history and ask about genetic testing.
