CardioSmart Joins National Organizations Urging You to "Care About Your Care"

Month-long effort raises attention around quality care.

Through the CardioSmart National Care Initiative, the American College of Cardiology will be partnering with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Department of Health and Human Services, and dozens of national organizations on the Care About Your Care program to increase awareness about what you can do to identify and receive better health care.

Care About Your Care is a focused, month-long effort to spark conversation and galvanize attention around quality care. On September 15, 2011, national health care luminaries will gather for an event that celebrates the quality movement and provides real examples of transformative change among patients and physicians from communities and partners around the country. The event will be shown live on the Internet and will be hosted by cardiologist, author, and Emmy Award-winning TV host Dr. Mehmet Oz.

The program’s website, CareAboutYourCare.org, can help you better understand what quality care entails by including resources for finding quality care and getting the most out of the care you receive.
