To mark World Heart Day on Sept. 29, the World Heart Federation called for everyone to “Take the road to a healthy heart.” Reducing your own and your family’s risk of heart disease and stroke are vital because healthy children lead to healthy adults, and healthy adults lead to healthy families and communities. You can carry the spirit of World Heart Day through the entire month of October by being physically active.
The majority of cardiovascular disease is caused by risk factors that can be controlled, treated or modified. For example, did you know that physical inactivity contributes to more than 3 million preventable deaths each year? Help prevent the future impact of heart disease and stroke by getting and staying active.
Are you ready to take the road to a healthier heart? Take this important prevention step by exercising regularly—walking, biking, playing tennis; it all counts—and make at least 10 entries this month in your CardioSmart activity tracker
